Treasure Journeys Background

Thought I would give some background as to the humble beginnings of Treasure Journeys.  Here is a link to a interview that I did a few months ago with Auctiva.com people for their newsletter titled  "A Journey They Treasure".

We use Auctiva.com to list our Ebay items and the AuctivaCommerce.com for our website.  They are great people to work with and we have found the tools very easy to work with.

We were also fortunate to do a Internet Radio interview on Everything Internet here is the link to Treasure Journeys interview.

Everything Internet is a great resource for people that want to learn about the internet and how to apply it to your business. It is based in Texas and is aired every Saturday on the internet.

Looks like I have posted quite a few links today but, I think these are very useful and informative if you are wanting to do ecommerce.

Blogger Settings for My Blog

Well now that I have decided on direction I need to set up my settings for the blog. I have just discovered that takes a person down many roads and can get puzzling at times as to what I am doing! Sometimes there is not much information available as to what the choices entail and you have to just jump in with both feet. It is scary! I don't want to make mistakes and have to go back and make changes - I would rather do it right the first time. Have gone down that other path too many times.

So here goes. I went to the settings page for Life Journeys and made my choices.

Page one - Basic settings - fairly straight forward - no hard decisions here.
Same with Publishing and formatting tabs

Comments Tab - Here you decide as to who can comment and how it is shown. I chose to show the comments and allow only registered users to make comments (I did not feel like allowing anonymous users to make visable comments - just a gut feeling)

Also chose to show back links - interested in seeing what other sites link to this blog.

Chose comment moderation and word verification for comments - Would like to see what is being written before publishing on this blog. Do not want to have certain material in my blog. This gives me the choice of what is published.

Archiving and Site Feed pretty straight forward. Site Feed I set at Full

Email and Mobile - I did not do anything with - I will not publish content from these devices.

Permissions Tab - Blog Authors and who can view are pretty straight forward.

Well that takes care of how I set up the settings on this blog. Then I discovered I wanted to make this available for following of this blog. Found out about FeedBurner - this will be the next blog discussion.

The Journey of Internet Selling

Struggling to decide direction for this blog and what topic to write about. After giving much thought I have decided to blog about my experiences of selling on the internet. Topics that will be discussed will cover all aspects from starting a website, deciding what to sell, promoting your website, selling on ebay, picture taking, drop shipping, using social sites, marketing tools, etc.....

I will be sharing the good and the bad. Writing about the paths I have taken going down the wrong road and the right road and what I have discovered along the way.

I will try to answer questions that readers have and also post discussions on topics related to selling on the internet. If you have experiences you would like to share you are invited to comment on topics discussed.
